Supporters are advised that financial shortfalls in support received in recent months are preventing SAMS Canada from honoring its commitment to support the ministry of Bishop Abelino Apeleo in Iglesia del Salvador.

SAMS Canada entered into a partnership by way of a contractual agreement with the Diocese of Chile which began in January 2009, wherein Canadian support would initially make up 60 percent of the monthly budget for Bishop Apeleo as full-time pastor for the congregation of Iglesia del Salvador, (covering 60 % of the monthly stipend and housing budget) over a six year period. The arrangement requires SAMS Canada to raise approximately $1,400 Cdn per month. As of 2011, this funding will decrease to 80%, 60%, 40% and then 20% of this amount in each of the subsequent four years, as the Diocese of Chile grows its level of self-financing for this ministry.
